The Swing Of Things

Well I'm back. Oregon was beautiful; lush forests, the ocean a short walk away, fresh air and far away from the noise of traffic and neighbors. It was so peaceful and serene there, most of my time was spent hiking, watching the ocean or deer in the trees.

We we're staying in Cape Blanco, several miles away from any towns or anything resembling shopping. But there was the historic lighthouse and Hughes House just a short walk away, which were both great. It was just wonderful to see nothing but ferns and trees for so long, soothing even...

So it's only natural that I come back to disaster, the Steam Pipe update to be exact. See, while I was off connecting with nature, Valve decided to update all their games; breaking tons of mods and custom content in the process. I'm not even surprised anymore. I've just come to accept that I'm not allowed to have nice things and any web service I use is past due for an ugly, hard to use overhaul. In the meantime, Source SDK was broken and won't load Hammer, meaning I can't work on maps. So far there's been no reason to think they'll address this little problem. But hey, at least we get trading cards now. Virtual trading cards. With no readily discernible purpose other than breaking my games and and turning my Steam profile into some horrible lovechild of the Fischer-Price corporation and a tax return form.

In any case, someone found a way to get Hammer working until those office-goblins sort things out. Not that I'm particularly inclined to work on any maps right now, why should I when they'll probably all be broken next year?

See, this guy gets it. This update reeks.

Whatever. While this mess gets cleaned up I'll be fondly looking back on this trip, thinking back to the purple flowers and the dense fog that rolled in from ocean. There were several days when I would stop at the cliff face along the coast trail and just stand there, letting the wind blow past me. I didn't want to leave at all. If I could, I think I would really like to live in a rural environment like that, with trees in every direction, moss and ferns completely surrounding my little cottage.

Or a cave. I would be perfectly okay with living in the depths of the Earth like some kind of salamander.

Brief Hiatus

Bad news everyone! I'm going to be camping for the next two weeks and probably won't have internet access. So you won't be able to get your fix of album covers and bunnies for a while. Perhaps I can leave you with this parting gift:

Heino will be watching over you until I return. Try not to make a mess.

His Noodliness

I wanted to make this post sooner, but with everything that's been happening in the news recently it felt like it was a little inappropriate to talk about silly science fiction stuff so soon.

In any case, I've gotten back to work on the map. With time, I think the new material will be good enough to show in a short video or here on the blog. Surprisingly, most of what I had planned has already been built. If I had to guess, I'd say only the last third of the rough brushwork is left to do. After, it's time to work on the NPC's and special effects.

Obviously Lost Highway won't be done in the same time frame Hypnophobia benefited from, but hey, I'm busier now. I've got places to be. Although, I can already tell you that I like the foggier, brighter style of environments I've been working with. It's a refreshing break from the dark, foreboding interiors of the previous three. In fact, I'm inclined to think the series will just keep getting brighter and shinier until I have to stop, step back and realize no one can see what they're doing anymore.

There isn't much to tell besides that. Well, except this...

But that's not all. There's also...

This.  A couple days ago I decided to do a watercolor of the Dalek Emperor and have been trying to convince my sister to hang it in her room since. If I didn't know any better, I'd say she didn't want it. But I know she's just been too busy to give me a proper answer. Or she's too awe-struck and has been rendered speechless.

Clean Lines

Well I've been working these past two weeks. I'm immensely glad for this, but it means Lost Highway is being neglected more than it should be. Progress is slow, especially since it has to share time with all my other little projects I've got going (such as the romantic comedy sequel to Diplomacy).

In the meantime, let's talk about modernism: the Barcelona Pavilion to be specific.

Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the Pavilion was built in 1929 for the International Exhibition in Barcelona Spain. It was an immediate sensation; the open, flowing use of space combined with the extravagant building materials made the Pavilion one of the most popular sights during the Exhibition.

It was intended to be a tranquil place for tired visitors. There, they could rest a while before going back to the Exhibition. As such, it had no exhibits of it's own, simply being a minimalist sculpture garden, bluring the distinction between outside and inside, exemplifying the maxim "Less is More".

The use of load-bearing walls was kept to a minimum, in order to create the impression that the ceiling was floating on air. Everything else was either glass, marble or red onyx. What few walls there were encouraged visitors to thoroughly explore the Pavilion's space and the wide glass windows made it feel all the more open and visible.

As you can probably guess, the simple geometric design of the Pavilion makes it very easy to recreate in Source, something I'm hoping to show off in Lost Highway or some later, as of yet unknown map.

Sir Swagsalot

Remember when I said there wasn't any area in Lost Highway that was good enough to show to the public? Recently it turns out I was wrong. The good news is that there's a trailer now. The bad news is that it looks like this:

That's all for now, maybe tomorrow I'll make a post about airplanes.

Apocolypse When

Well here it is, the last post of the year. My only regret is that I don't personally know anyone who was anticipating Armageddon this last week, so I can't see how silly they must feel now. Oh well, there's always next year.

I wish I had more to tell you, but Lost Highway is developing pretty slowly right now. There's no area that looks good enough for a screenshot either. Besides, on the off chance that my sister reads this, I don't want her seeing anything. She's forbidden from seeing anything related to the map until it's done, then she'll be able to playtest it. But heck, who am I kidding. She doesn't read this.

In the meantime, here's some videos of me playing other people's custom maps (watch them all at the same time to pretend you're watching split screen multiplayer in GoldenEye or something):

This little scheme is actually getting pretty popular. Who knows, maybe I'll get internet famous with these. One thing I don't expect I'll do is commentaries as I play. Those videos irritate me more often then not and the person talking almost never have anything good to say. Besides, it distracts from the maps.

Lastly, here's a picture of a Tanji, you know, from the butterfly story.

I've Lost Control of My Life

Hey everybody, I just really wanted to make a post today seeing as how it's 12/12/12 and all. I've been working this week and today in particular has been particularly hectic so I haven't had the opportunity to gather my thoughts for a proper post about Space Balls or Daleks or whatever. Instead, enjoy a few pictures I found in one of my old folders:

See you dweebs tomorrow.

Mystery Shad, Oregon

Just a quick post for today, mainly because no one needs to hear my political opinions, I did enough whining last month.

Instead, know that my sister and I have been watching Gravity Falls this week after I get home from work (I'm still working with my contractor friend you see). It's a cartoon of course. After all, we need something to watch while you-know-what-show is on hiatus.

It's about two kids spending the Summer with their great uncle, solving bizarre mysteries around town. We've only seen the first three episodes but I've already been hooked on it. Imagine The X-Files crossed with Twin Peaks. Sure, it's not high entertainment, but if I wanted intellectual stimulation I'd read a book. If I want gnomes, talking wax figures and sea monsters, this will do it.

I think the real reason why we like this show so much is because we're both a just a little bit unnerved by how much the main characters remind us of each other. For example, Mabel is constantly wearing garish tacky sweaters and going on bizarre tangents that don't relate at all to what's happening around her. Meanwhile Dipper is introverted and thinks there's conspiracies absolutely everywhere. Consequently he spends most of the show obsessively flipping through an old book full of esoteric codes. Plus, he doesn't ever smile for pictures. Just change some names, add a mustache and a pair of glasses and bam, it's us.

Mother, if you're reading this you know what I'm talking about. It's downright eerie.

And there you have it. We'll probably still be watching this next week since my sister said she won't be watching you-know-what-show anymore even if the third season starts in four days. Apparently, it's too girly for her and the fan base has gotten too creepy, she doesn't want any guilt by association. Oh and before I forget; I found out as I was writing this that apparently Puerto Rico voted to become a state. So we probably have fifty-one now! That's a new record! See, here you are thinking you can't get good journalism from my blog.

Oh yeah, one last thing, I'll just leave this here:

Second Empire, First Post About Kentucky Bluegrass

First thing's first. I hate the new Blogger editor layout, but I've already complained about that.

But besides that? Well I've just found a very...interesting comic while perusing around TVTropes.

It's called Second Empire; the story of a renegade Dalek's struggle against a decadent and ineffectual regime and it's mission to create it's own empire. One of the first things one notices when reading is that there absolutely no mention of the Doctor for the first two hundred pages (at least). Try to picture that, 100%, nonstop Dalek action. Daleks on every single page.

It's all made with CGI. Normally I would scoff at something like that but it works the look very well.

It's only fair to warn you: these Daleks are very different from their T.V. counterparts. It's actually kind of jarring. Each of them had much more of an individual personality than usual and has honest-to-goodness emotions besides hate. It's like they think they're people or something. Plus, in spite of being about homicidal aliens there's innumerable little comedy bits sprinkled throughout.

It's about nothing but Daleks without being too dark yet still has a compelling story and action scenes. I'm giving Second Empire a nine out of ten; If you liked the TV21 comics this will be equally appealing. Give it a look-see.

Speaking of the TV21 comics, I found a gallery that's compiled every single one of them in a convenient package. Like Second Empire it's all about the Daleks being sneaky and evil without any interference from obnoxious men in blue time machines.

Aaaaand that's all for now. Nothing else is going on unless you count Obtuse Goose being a whiny little girl and demanding I make a blog post about how much I hate him. Because apparently, I don't get to decide when I hate something enough to make a post about it anymore. Well you know what? Fine. I'll have you know that he's let Borderlands 2 completely take over his life and he's that much less of a man for it.

All the weapons are randomly generated and it's all cel-shaded like some kind of dumb baby game. So not only are you constantly reminded that you're playing something made by Fischer-Price or some other dumb baby company, but you, as the player, are completely stripped of control over what kind of weapons you have.

What's that? You have, like, a shotgun with a sniper scope on it? Too bad, you're stuck with it until the random number gods decide to give you something less ridiculous.

Plus, he listens to Kentucky Bluegrass because, according to some tortured logic and a quadratic formula he made is equal to classic metal. In what exactly? I don't know, he hasn't told me.

I just don't understand. I don't understand.

Everything is More Horrible in Texas

So it's been about a week since I stepped off the plane to begin my banishment here in the corn capital of the world. Yes...Texas.

Seriously, I've put off writing this post for so long because I have trouble putting into words just how bizarre this place is. I'm serious. It's not like just being in another state. It's like another state of mind, another country; for what it's worth I might very well be on a different planet.

Sure, everyone knows that people from Texas love their precious state, it's kind of taken for granted. But it's impossible to really understand how much they love this state without actually being here and seeing the insanity firsthand. Everyone has the ubiquitous Lone Star above their front door. Everyone. Plus, the Texas flag is absolutely everywhere too, more than the American flag by a large margin. Remember how in Half-Life 2 the Combine would plaster their planet-in-claw symbol on everything they owned? It's like that, everything here has the star on it to remind you that this is TEXAS.

It gets worse.

See, I'm from California so I'm used to rolling hills and dramatic landscapes. I'm most at home at the sea and the vinyards of our noble wine country. There is none of that here. Really, there is no way to prepare oneself for how flat this state is. I swear, on a clear day I can see New Mexico if I focus on the horizon. The geometrically perfect flatness is, dare I say, harrowing.

And it's hot, relentlessly so. There's a constant cloud cover that acts like a giant meteorological oven, baking any poor lifeforms trapped underneath it. To step outside is to be suffocated by the thick, murky air and to be roasted by the intense glaring heat. There's very little shade here, since practically all the land is occupied by corn. Seriously, there is corn everywhere. In every single direction I look there's just more corn.

But there's always the internet, right? I can always escape this desert island in the sea of corn and plunge into the waiting arms of TVTropes, right?

Wrong. Since we're out in the country we can only be connected to the internet for about an hour each day. This land is so desolate that it resists connection like a white blood cell resisting the cold. This post has actually taken two whole days to write just because I never have enough time to finish it, especially since I have to share this ancient laptop with three other people.

I'm serious, I might die out here. If I keep living like this it'll do me in. The only solace I have is that Mother bought me a tiny USB salt lamp yesterday. They're like regular lamps except they're blocks of salt. Apparently, when it's turned on it emits "negative ions". Details are vague but apparently it's supposed to cure cancer or something, it magics away disease. We got it at some hippy surplus store so I'm not to confident in it's abilities to cure me of my chronic sorrow.

That's all for now. Just in case this post seems more incoherent than usual it's because, again, I can only be on here for an hour at a time or less, so proof-reading isn't feasible.

Status Report: Still A Horse

I'm here with a very quick post for now, mostly because every project I'm working on at the moment is top secret. All I can tell you is that cubes are definitely in right now, so are purple lights. This all ties into a short story idea I've been having that involves half-digested fungus spores, more on that later. For now, it's necessary to keep a low profile.

Basically, be on the look out for cubes and huge T.V. screens because they're going to be the talk of the town very soon.

Also I'm still a pony, I wasn't joking about that.

CH-CH-CHANGES

If there's one thing I hate, it's change. Especially unnecessary changes that don't improve anything. I've suffered the lion's share of pointless changes in my life, from the merger of TechTV and G4 to updated channel designs on Youtube and here on Blogger. Because of this, I have actively tried to eradicate change from my life until nothing remains but my own singular consciousness, totally immune to any outside influence. I've told Idontknow about my plans but unfortunately he doesn't see the appeal in becoming an invulnerable energy-being. Oh well, I think we all know who'll have the last laugh when I survive the Universal Heat Death.

Sadly, my efforts to exterminate progress have met less than successful results. G4 is still an awful spout of miasma and Youtube is becoming more and more sterile and impersonal with every passing day, saying nothing of the unfathomable stupidity of it's commentators. Plus, as far as I can tell the outside world is still a thing that exists so that's terrible too.

I've had a few minor successes in creating my own personal bubble though. As I said, Blogger's been updating their editor. The comments on my blog have been acting, for lack of a better word, wonkey and everything felt slower.

Naturally, this will not do.

To make a long heartache short, I spent the last hour and a half fiddling with different settings to get everything ship-shape again, even considering using a new template for better compatibility. This would have the effect of making the blog look slightly different. Naturally, this would not do. So I did what had to be done, I sifted through some of my oldest folders and found a dusty old XML file, the oldest surviving template I had. With only minor tinkering it worked and the editor survived apparently unscathed. Why did I do this? Because I hate changes in my life and I will not stop until every uncontrolled variable has been exterminated.

Oh, I just remembered, today is Valentine's Day. Well too bad! I hate love too!

The Sting of the Manticore

So it's been about a week now, I have new projects to keep me occupied in the absence of maps. For example, a secret writing project I've referred to only as The Mars Thing. I give it this bland name because I'm very superstitious about naming my literary works. Whenever I think of a cool sounding name for something I'm working on it almost never gets finished. I attribute this to a gypsy curse and I blame it for why my previous magnum opus Dr. Donovan Slate: Man of Steel or The Claws of Doom: The Illustrated History of the Killbots haven't been picked up by a publisher yet.

Either way, the Mars thing will be a great, with lots of hard science fact and outrageous predictions of fashion trends in the late 21st Century. I'm telling you people, beehive hairdos are making a comeback in 2084, just you wait and see!

Thankfully my life hasn't been completely consumed by my quest to be the next Kilgore Trout, not yet at least. I've also been hard at work making my own homebrew tabletop RPG system. If all goes well, it will be both elegantly simple enough to fit all the rules onto a notecard and versatile enough to run any campaign in any setting (including My Little Pony). Plus, every dice roll will be made with the common d6, as in the dice used in Monopoly or in the alley behind the liquor store.

Progress has been slow so far, mainly because I've never played a tabletop game myself and have no idea how they're supposed to work. So far, I've only managed to get a small test campaign with my sister running. The plot, such as it is, is that she needs to deliver a TPS report to her boss who happens to be an evil wizard. Results aren't looking so good, we haven't even bothered to follow the rules I've worked on and both times she's died when she's confronted the aforementioned wizard. But you can't stop progress and by Jove, I'll make millions off this idea yet!

Speaking of which, I've been antiquing again. As I've already told Idontknow, I've struck figurative gold. One of the local antique stores has a venerable gold mine of god awful album covers, several of which have already appeared here. It really must be seen to be believed, there's no way to describe seeing the likes of Yes, Focus and even Thomas Dolby in one place. With the possible exception of "hideous". But all that's dwarfed in comparison to the crowning achievement of the trip, I've found a copy of the Tarkus album by none other then Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Look at that, imagine that sitting on my desk right now. Because that is exactly what it is doing. It's glorious (if a bit water damaged) and comes complete with the inner sleeve depicting Tarkus doing battle with several other baffling cybernetic animals. Sure, I don't have a record player and therefore can't listen to it. But hey, it's not like I could already listen to the whole song on Youtube already...

...except that I could. I still don't regret my purchase.

As far as I'm concerned Tarkus is now the official mascot of my blog, seeing as how he's referenced to almost as much as the Daleks.

For more predictions of fashion to come in the world of tomorrow, be sure to check out Tales From Future Past.

The Name of the Game

Ladies and gentlemen, Hypnophobia is now at an unprecedented 81.4% of it's entdata capacity. But don't bust open those champagne bottles just yet, there's still more map to come.

We've come a long way in a surprisingly short time, but there's still the matter of placing cubemaps, AI nodes and all sorts of other little bells and whistles. For now, I'm working on an extended action sequence. Without giving too much away, I will just say that it involves a house, a Tunneling Entanglement Device and snipers. Fun!

This area is at an awkward stage in it's development where any pictures will just make it look bad. This is the best I can do for now, yet it is inadequate for representing what I have planned.

I can reveal little, except that this map has been designed to torment the player with various hazards. I expect that Hypnophobia will be at least a full 64% more actively hostile to the player then it's predecessors, so assuming this is actually finished before year 2012 begins be prepared to put on your thinking caps.

I think before this map is truly finished, I will need to go back to some already-finished areas and deadly them up a bit, I'm thinking poison gas, or car crashes if at all possible. Environmental hazards are now the name of the game.

And sprites, we need a lot more of those. You can't have enough glitter.

ALSO, in case you haven't already noticed, I've been toying around with the blog's HTML in order to take advantage of all the empty space on either side of the screen. It was just sitting there, not full of words and pictures and being generally useless, so I did what had to be done and fiddled around with programming I don't pretend to understand and the blog is now a better place because of it.

Yes.

White Gold

Before we continue, I'd like you all to know that you, you've not. Got. That. Look. IN YOUR EYES.

Anyway, I've had a rather tumultuous week this week. First and foremost, my video card died. This is a tragedy, there is no doubt about that. It all started a few days ago, when my computer wouldn't turn on. In a panic, I opened it up and blasted as much dust as I could out. Again and again I tried to get the be-deviled thing to work, when suddenly I had an epiphany: I would take out the video card. Naturally it turned on fine, but hideously underpowered. This means that, once again I am left to rely on my much maligned integrated card until I can scrounge up enough monies to play my precious Supreme Commander again. As you can guess, I've been left in a terribly unstable emotional state by this. Tears were had by all.

What does this mean for the map? Surprisingly, not much. Half-Life 2 is one of the few games which runs more or less normally on the dinky integrated card. Sure, HDR lighting doesn't work and Hammer is a little (more) unstable, but it's nothing drastic. So don't worry ladies and gentlemen, Hypnophobia lives on.

On a much lighter note, I've told some of you already, but recently I got the greatest puppet ever. See, the historic downtown of my city is a cultural hub of sorts and I go there every other week to keep my finger on the pulse of this great city. Well, in one of the many gift shops there I spied the perfect stuffed animal.

Imagine if you will a fluffy white bunny...in a magicians hat...and you put your hand in the hat to animate the bunny.

I don't mind telling you, when I saw it I laughed. For, like, five minutes straight. Tears were running down my face, other customers started to worry. Naturally, I bought it and I promise you I am going to make a video and put it here for the whole world to see.

The world must know about Frank: Bunny Supreme.

Also, I just recently finished watching all of Aeon Flux, the show not the god-awful movie. It's pretty good, pretty good.

Terror

I just want you all to know how much this blog means to me. It's been a constant companion over these few years and I've come to cherish it. I never realize this more then when I join some other bizarre websites that stray away from the sterile safety I've become accustomed to here.

I won't say what site I've joined as I've been informed several times that I'm forbidden from speaking about it. Even so, I expect to disregard the antiquated etiquette of this awful place, I might even delete my account because honestly, I'm just not feeling it.

Assuming I do stick around I expect to be the local Rodney Dangerfield where I just barge in and do whatever I want with no regard for the consequences. Stay tuned!

NEWS FLASH:

I left because I hated it! LOL!

Nonstandard

I've been resisting the compulsion to show off a lot of Hypnophobia in the video's I've made recently, opting to have vague camera angles and creepy music do the talking. I'm liking it so far, it get's the point across.

In the meantime I've been working on a lighthouse. I'm very confident in it, it'll be a great addition when it's done...assuming it's ever finished. See, models and brushes (the blocks that make up the map) don't like to line up, which make it very difficult to use the staircase model.

Besides that, I've been thinking about cyborgs recently. If there was a way to alter a person in such a way that their breathing-holes were in their chest I think it would be much more efficient, it would take less effort to get air into the lungs and there would be no need for a nose on their face, something I'm always worried will get broken.

My nose is a constant source of fear for me.

Unseen Enemies

I'm having a bit of a nervous episode so here's this:

...

Shaye hadn't left the house for several weeks. She couldn't remember how long ago it was when she boarded up the windows and doors. It had gotten so bad that she had to stuff the chimney with what was left of Kiki's novelty feather collection. It had been weeks, the stress of being isolated had started to take it's toll on them both.

Shaye was in her bedroom, the proportions of which were recorded every hour on the hour. She had a notebook for every geometrical property of the tiny space; concave angles, heigth, width, length, all of them were meticulously cataloged and stowed away in the "vault", which was codeword for her closet. She and Kiki had to use codewords because even though they had effectively trapped themselves in the house, they were still in danger of invasion.

The vault was starting to overflow with impeccably kept notebooks and was spilling out into the room itself.

How long had it been since all this turmoil began? Shaye couldn't tell, but the pile of records seemed to give an indication. She had been doing the hand thing longer then she cared to remember and it was only then that the realization began to sink in: with no frame of reference, she might be trapped in that room forever, doing the hand thing.

Shaye stormed out of her fort. The house itself wasn't much larger, her bedroom was connected to Kiki's with the only bathroom in between, the living room was only slightly larger than either bedroom combined and still had to accommodate the kitchen, hidden away behind the living room like a dungeon. Naturally, Kiki would be in there, behind a venerable pile of feather boas that had somehow escaped the attempt to clog the chimney, hiding herself so she could safely do that hand thing.

"Where are the Hollywood diet drops?" Shaye said. Something was shuffling around in the pile of boas but she wasn't sure it was Kiki. "You know I need those diet drops. Two drops, two pounds!" She said again.

The multi-colored boas reached as high as the refrigerator. She suspected that they've been there for so long that no one had cleaned out the fridge for a very very long time. The realization struck her like a cold blade to the chest, the contents of the fridge may have become sentient and was now lurking about the boas, ready to claim the house as it's own.

"Kiki, we're leaving!" Shaye proclaimed. "Get the convertible!"

Even during a crisis like this, she was prepared. There was a secret exit through the bathroom that not even that awful rabbit man with the paper gloves could find. Shaye hastily packed whatever she could into the duffel-bag she won on the cruise and made her escape.

What she failed to realize was that the emergency escape hatch was actually the broken window Kiki had neglected during the preparations from earlier.

Either way, Shaye was running through the streets with only a duffel-bag full of lip balm, now evading unseen enemies.

Tiny Money

Progress on Hypnophobia has been pretty steady. We haven't run into any horrid problems yet with compiling so that's good. I can still remember the sting of various bizarre errors I got when Insomnia was baking, the teeth grinding, the hair pulling, the crying, good God the crying.

I've taken preemptive measures against such heart ache this time around, I've constructed a map specifically for defense against the frustration that comes with being, well, a genius.

This is Lounge Island, a quite home away from home for those times when you want to get away from it all, especially dubious amounts of entdata in compile logs. Lounging on these private beaches is also highly recommended for those who, against their better judgment, are out looking for jobs when they should be mapping.

See, a certain mustachioed young man here has applied to work at the local book stores and gardening supply stores, not because he needs the money but because he feels obligated as a newly christened adult to join the Kafkaesque world of day labor. It won't be a problem for him though, with the entire socio-economic system that forms the foundation of his being about to crumble there's barely any point in looking for civilized employment before we're all reduced to fighting each other over water in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Now, that's not to say this young man isn't looking forward to a life of stacking boxes and wearing ties. He just isn't getting his hopes up that someone would want to give him money for the aforementioned box-stacking and tie-wearing, especially not when it's been clearly established that the entire Western world is falling into chaos around him.

We could assume that this young man, rather than make a futile attempt at joining a society he clearly doesn't understand, would very much like to spend the rest of his life (no matter how short it might be) making maps in various states of illogic.

No doubt the cognitive dissonance this conflict creates in our mustachioed hero's mind can be too much to bare. At this point, he has two options: have a nervous breakdown or go for a relaxing swim on a tiny island he built for just such a purpose.

And thus, Lounge Island was born.

...

I will occasionally be uploading screenshots of my various doings on my Steam profile page. It would be the bee's knees if you check there for time to time. It should be worth a giggle, maybe even a snicker.

Devious Schemes

Hey everybody! Just a quick update this time mainly because I don't have much interesting to say.

It's been over two months since Insomnia finished and I'm not quite ready to tackle the final map in the Paranoia trilogy. Although, my sister and I were discussing it and we're inclined to think that Hypnophobia will be much more horror-themed then the last two. I'm already getting visions of blood and skeletons. Mostly skeletons.

Also, I'm sure you remember a few posts back where I said that Insomnia eventually stopped compiling because there were too many brush faces. Well, I'm thinking of starting Hypnophobia with the same areas I was planning for the end of the last map. This means it may or may not start in a modern art museum.

Neat!
